Chiropractic
was coined from a Greek term meaning ‘Chiro’ by hand and praktikos or practice.

It uses the levers of the spine and articulating segments to ‘adjust’ the segments into its normal anatomical position that allows full movement of the segment or bone.  It allows the nervous system to optimally function thus allowing the body to heal naturally.  Chiropractic aids in the prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the effects of these disorders on the functions of the nervous system and general health. Traditionally, it is based on the premise that a vertebral subluxation or spinal joint dysfunction can interfere with the nervous system and result in many different conditions of diminished health. Today, the progressive view examines the relationship between structure and function and its impact on neurological mechanisms in both health and disease.
